Rae Flores is a painter and poet currently residing in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. She is a senior in the BFA Studio Art program at the University of North Texas. Within her artwork, Rae explores and subverts themes of femininity, nostalgia, and surrealism through the use of her defining pink color palette. Rae’s painting and poetry practices inform each other; through both she focuses on finding comfort in the bittersweet, contrasting whimsical and dreamlike imagery against taboo subject matter such as women's health, bodily autonomy, religious deconversion, and growing up.

Rae’s paintings have been included in exhibitions at the School of Visual Arts (New York, NY), 500X Gallery (Dallas, TX), and RTown Art Gallery (Grapevine, TX), among others. She had her debut solo exhibition at Sundance Square’s Zona 7 Gallery (Fort Worth, TX). Her poetry has been published in The 2River View and North Texas Review.
